I share a few throwback moments here.
In the year 1982. I got a 1st professional assignment over the
phone where I was a trainee under the guidance of ace
photographer Late Jyotish Chakrabarty, with a huge baritone
voice, none other than Manik Jhethu (Uncle), Shri Satyajit Ray.
The brief was to shoot a family portrait with period lighting
in the studio set up.
The images were supposed to be used on the sets of Ghare-Baire
(Home and the World). It was a family portrait of Bimala & Nikhilesh
which was kept on the table in duo’s bedroom.
Conceptualization, Art Direction, Styling and also the artwork
was done by The Maestro himself.
Location: Indrapuri Studio, Tollygunge, Calcutta.
I am extremely lucky and honoured to work with the stalwart as
a young photographer, who just started his first professional clicks.
I was incorporated as a member of Team Ray.
